Will American Idol Season 22 Have Disney Night?

Although it’s not yet on the schedule, American Idol season 22 will surely feature Disney Night, which has been an annual tradition since ABC revived the show in 2018. Not only do the contestants sing classic Disney songs, but Katy dresses up like an iconic Disney character every year. Since this is her last season with the show, she’ll surely go all out with her costume. Disney Night is one of the most magical episodes of the season, so American Idol season 22 is almost certain to include it.

Introduced during American Idol season 20, the American Idol Judges’ Song Contest is an extraordinary night in which the judges, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan each choose a song for a contestant to sing. The finalist has to choose a song from that list and guess which judge selected it. That judge then receives a point. Whichever judge has the most points at the end of the episode wins. In past seasons, the Judges’ Song Contest has been a huge success because Lionel, Katy, and Luke get to know the contestants so well, and they give them song choices that help them thrive.

American Idol theme nights have always made the show exciting. Disney Night in particular has become one of the most beloved ever because of the music and Katy’s costumes, which have included Snow White, Ursula, Mrs. Jumbo, Tinker Bell, Ariel, and Elastigirl. It’ll be very exciting to see who Katy chooses for her final costume. Perhaps Lionel and Luke will finally join in the fun and wear costumes too since it’s their last time judging Disney Night with Katy. American Idol season 22 has some of the most talented singers the show has ever seen, so it’ll be thrilling to hear their song choices for these awesome theme nights.

American Idol

American Idol is a reality singing competition that adds to the international “Idol” brand, conceived initially in the U.K. as Pop Idol. Holding massive auditions across the U.S., American Idol invited several contestants to perform in front of a panel of judges that would determine whether or not they’d go on to future rounds for a chance at competing in the fully televised premiere of the show. Contestants are voted off each week by American participation via voting through various mediums, and the winner of the competition would be given a contract with a record label to secure a future as America’s next musical idol.
